"Dashing through the snow"--or not :)
Dashing—not!—through snow
Fast one cannot go
Bundled without grace
Wind is in my face
'brella did a flip
In the wind's wild grip
Lucky that I caught a bus or surely I would slip
Oh
"Ding-dong" bell—subway hell:
"Watch the closing doors!"
Subway steps are slick with slush
I wish they'd clean the floors
But why curse? Could be worse
This, of course, we know
With just one inch of snow
:) :) :)

I love it! Too cute!
:) Thanks! :)
Love it! My dad z'l, whose yahrzeit is this weekend, would have appreciated it too. I'll be writing more about him today or tomorrow.
Shira, this is great...and deserves a wider readership. The scene you described also would work for Toronto!
Elie, glad you enjoy. Your father, too, must have had a good sense of humor.
TorontoPearl, I thought there was more snow in Toronto--not that I would wish it on you.
So, nu,
haven't you
been known to write
a poem or two?
TP, I could use some advice from you,
For a "wider readership," what should I do?
To those who've already commented and those who may yet comment, thanks! I've noticed that I rarely get comments on my poetry posts, so I really appreciate your kind, not to mention enthusiastic, words. This particular poem was really fun to write, so I'm especially tickled that it's tickling so many other people's funny bones. :)
Oh, my heavens, silly me
Don't know why I didn't see
This poem's earned popularity
'Cause it's not so much a poem as a parody
I’m learning from Lenny, apparently :)
